No amount of rain can dampen this girls style

Fearne Cotton wearing Ray-Ban 4141 sunglasses

Even though it was one of the wettest days in weeks, with continuous downpour throughout the day, but Fearne Cotton refused to let the rain dampen her style.

The Radio 1 presenter looked optimistic about the weather as she stepped out wearing
Ray-Ban 4141
sunglasses.

Even when it is raining Fearne cannot put this ultra stylish frame down which looks great on her. The round frame works a treat as Fearne demonstrates yet again, on smaller face shapes. Ray-Ban 4141 is a simple design with Ray-Ban detailing on the arms. Branded discreetly on the top left of the lens, these shades lends themselves perfectly to those who set, not follow the trends.

After hosting her Radio 1 show in the morning, the fashion designer headed off to a photo shoot.

Meanwhile, the DJ has been announced as the host of the first ever Teen Awards which will take place next month. Guests and performers will include JLS and Professor Green.

Fearne said 'I’m extremely proud to be presenting the first ever Teen Awards with Grimmy (Nick Grimshaw). What a great event - awards, inspirational teenagers and a brilliant line-up.'

Professor Green steals the show at MOBO Awards

Professor Greene wearing Persol 0649 sunglasses

The stars braved the cold to celebrate the 2010 MOBO Awards in Liverpool last night. Some of the big names were Tinie Tempah, Tinchy Stryder, JLS and Alesha Dixon…

But our favourite look of the night was Professor Green who stole the show in Persol 0649.
We also have to give special mention to Dappy who accessorised with Ray-Ban Wayfarers.

His Persol sunglasses are in the style of those seen on Steve McQueen in ‘The Thomas Crown
Affair’ and ‘The Get Away’.

The original sunglasses seen on Steve McQueen in both films were sold to a private collector in 2006. Those iconic sunglasses - with trademark McQueen blue, tortoiseshell housing, and collapsible frame - were lost to a private collector for tens and thousands of pounds. If you cannot afford to spend seventy thousand pounds on sunglasses, fear not. Persol has
created a line of classic McQueen sunglasses ranging which start from £185.

Not only has Persol reproduced the sunglasses of one of the greatest American male fashion icons, but have made them even better. The frame is handcrafted from a single sheet of acetate which is then broken for three points for the hinges. It is then put through a finishing process that creates a smooth outline and comfortable body. A supreme silver arrow - the iconic signature of Persol – decorates the temple.

2010 is the first year when a major award did not need nor deserve to go to an American act, an incredible development for British Urban Music. Professor Greene was awarded Best UK Hip Hop/ Grime Act. The big winners of the night were Tinie Tempah and JLS, leaving with two MOBOs each.

Lauren Conrad talks big sunglasses

Lauren Conrad wearing Dior Glossy 1 sunglasses

Since leaving ‘The Hills’ Lauren Conrad has penned several bestselling books and is hard at work launching new label ‘Paper Crown’, which is all about the fun of dressing up.

The line is her latest contribution to the fashion scene and features a collection of eyewear ranging from the oversized to the ultra glamorous.

She tells Teen Vogue "They were like, 'Do you want to do sunglasses,' and I said, 'Only if I can do them big!' Then they were like, ‘Do you want to do shoes?' And I said, ‘Only if I can do them tall!'"

Lauren loves designing and wearing big sunglasses and does so with pride. More often than not
Dior Glossy 1
is her weapon of choice. These sunglasses take everything good about fifties fashion and takes it to a cool more contemporary place. With a large frame subtly branded at the temple, these sunglasses have their own unique star quality. Choose this frame in black, brown or tortoiseshell for everyday wear. Or pink, petrol or violet for a more glamorous evening look.

The Graduate...

Take a trip back to the 70s, channel some Simon and Garfunkel, drag out your drainpipes and rediscover your love for graduated shades.

Whether it's for lenses or frames, graduated sunglasses will provide echoes of 70s retro chic which easily blend with contemporary styles.

There's no need to dig out an old scratched pair from under your bed, Tom Ford's already done the legwork and styled up a pair that even Mrs Robinson wouldn't turn down.

Seduce yourself with this graduate, pick Tom Ford's plastic ladies designer sunglasses with a brown/green graduated frame and brown lenses for under £120 at Send Optics.

Adrenaline Junkie vs. Fashion Junkie

It would be crazy to ignore a rich history where fashion and functionality have crossed paths, particularly so in the sports arena. However, traditionally, stylish sportswear or more so specialist eyewear has been the preserve of ladies.

Contemporary sunglasses are biting back for the boys and giving skiers and cyclists a run for their money. Instead, we see fashion statement eyewear meeting quotidian purposes which results in shades you wouldn't be ashamed to be seen in on the street - but which would be pretty useful on the golf course too...a la mode du Tiger Woods.

Our pick are these Tag Heuer Wraparound unisex designer sunglasses with a black frame and infrared lenses. Smooth, sleek, stylish and sporting; the real deal at Send Optics. And for a limited time, on offer with 20% off.
