Breaking Dawn will be split into two films

The final instalment in the popular Twilight film franchise will be split into two films, Summit Entertainment has announced.

‘The project, based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer's 'Twilight' series, is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer producing. 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' will
start production in the fall’ said the film studio in a statement.


Summit Entertainment had previously suggested that the 900 page Breaking Dawn was too complex to be made into one film, which focuses on the marriage of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson).

The first half of Breaking Dawn has been scheduled for release in November 2011. No date has been set for the fifth film.

The announcement comes just weeks before the third film, Twilight Saga: Eclipse, is released at the end June.

Oscar winner to direct Breaking Dawn

The fourth and final instalment of the Twilight saga, Breaking Dawn, will be directed by Bill Condon, it has been announced.

Bill has directed both independent and commercial films such as ‘Dreamgirls’ and ‘Kinsey and Gods and Monsters’, which won him an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. He also scripted the film version of Chicago, produced the 2009 Oscars and directed an upcoming series pilot for Showtime – the premium cable channel – called The Big C.

However, it is still unclear whether or not it will be produced in two parts, like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Breaking Dawn is scheduled for 2011 release.

In other news, Robert Pattinson has been eating chicken from Nandos to help him bulk up for Breaking Dawn.

Robert, who plays Edward Cullen in the vampire films, is apparently feeling the pressure from co-star Taylor Lautner who has been continually bulked-up since the second instalment New Moon.

The 23-year-old is said to be a regular in the Victoria branch of the fast-food chain in London.

A source told OK! magazine: ‘The customers can never believe it is really him – or how much he eats.’

‘He’s mad about the peri peri chicken.’

Robert Pattinson: 'I look like a transvestite'

British actor Robert Pattinson, who plays Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga, said that having his eyebrows plucked for the role made him feel like a transvestite.

In an interview with The Times, he said: 'You get to the point where you think, ‘Okay, I look like a transvestite now’

He also admitted that he didn’t understand why so many girls found him attractive, and that being an international sex symbol is ‘quite hard’.

When asked if he found fame irritating, he replied: 'I guess it’s part of your reality'.

He said it was a 'little bit harder to deal with' and that he gets 'stressed out much quicker'.

Last week he was met by scores of screaming fans at the premiere of his new film Remember Me, in Leicester Square, London.

In a precious interview he said he did not consider himself sexy: ‘I don't feel that I'm sexy at all. I don't feel connected to that kind of talk. People say it but I've never thought like that,’

The 23-year-old will return as Edward Cullen in Twilight: Eclipse alongside Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella Swan.

The film trailer has already been a huge hit with fans of the series and has had more than 9.8 million views so far.

Robert Pattinson confirms relationship with Kristen Stewart

After months of growing speculation that they're lovers off-set as well as on-set, Robert Pattinson has broken his silence on his relationship with Twilight
co-star Kristin Stewart

Speaking to The Sun he said, 'It is extremely difficult but we are together, yes. We can't arrive at the same time because of the fans. It goes crazy.’

He also revealed that despite sitting separately at the BAFTA Film Awards, the event was supposed to be their first public appearance as a couple.

‘This was supposed to be a public appearance as a couple but it's impossible. We are here together and it's a public event but it's not easy. We have to do all
this stuff to avoid attention.’

After the award ceremony, the couple headed to the Grosvenor House for the after-party to celebrate Kristen Stewart winning the Rising Star accolade, where they were spotted leaving at midnight.

Romance rumours have surrounded the couple since 2008 when the first Twilight film was released.

'In terms of what Kristen told me directly, it didn't happen on the first movie. Nothing crossed the line while on the first film’ The Sun quotes film director Catherine Hardwicke as saying

'I think it took a long time for Kristen to realise, ‘OK, I've got to give this a go and really try to be with this person’

They are rumoured to have finally gotten together while filming Twilight sequel New Moon last summer.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart forced apart

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are to be kept apart in a bid to quash relationship rumours.

The alleged couple have been kept apart since spending New Years together in the Isle of Wight for which they received a slap on the wrist.

Their management teams advised that their free-time should be used to focus on upcoming projects, as apposed to one another.

‘Everyone, from their management to the studios involved in their upcoming movies, is worried (Rob and Kristen) will start to become...distracted’ a source told Eonline.

‘Rob and Kristen are still together and totally cool. But they are both listening to what their teams are telling them, which is to stay focused’
another source concluded.

In other news, the kiss they share in first Twilight film has been voted one of the best kisses of the decade by Selfridges.

Meanwhile, Joan Jett has praised Kristen Stewart for her role in The Runaways, which is based on the real life experiences of band members Joan Jett and Cherie Currie.

‘It (she) was amazing. It was surreal. The first time I met her, her hair was still long. Then after she finished New Moon, she got it cut and I saw her out in LA for some rehearsals and it was really incredible. We were both laughing a lot because it’s surreal’ she told MTV news.


For Cherie Currie, however, The Runaways ‘was a little too much for me to handle,’ adding, ‘to be honest with you. For the first time, I got to see what it was like to be in an audience and look at The Runaways. It was right-on. This is all so surreal! I went to sleep, woke up in this amazing dream, and I can’t wake up. I don’t want to wake up. And guess what? I don’t have to!'
