Who would have believed that a live performance by Jessica Simpson at a chilli cookoff in Florida would create such a media frenzy and become a world wide topic of conversation.
Formerly praised for her sculpted Daisy Duke figure, Jessica shocked fans as she appeared on stage with a muffin top and noticeably fuller curves.
Jessica's sister Ashlee was one of many celebs who spoke out on the singers new frame, posting on her blog 'I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister's weight. A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman's weight or figure as a headline on Fox News.'
Adding salt to the wound, the company which shot Jessica's fitness DVD in 2005 is suing her a $10million breach of contract.
They say she attended shooting 'tipsy' and looking like a mess and when asked for a re-shoot she refused.
It was also revealed that the $1million DVD offer was originally offered to both Jessica and her ex-husband Nick Lachey, but Jess' father said she would do the project solo, screwing Nick out of $500,000!
Ashlee's not the only celeb whose commented on her sisters weight gain, Kim Kardashian also took to her blog to say, 'EVERYONE seems to be asking me about Jessica Simpson's alleged weight gain.
I think it's absolutely ridiculous!!! She is not fat at all and I am actually offended that people are giving her such a hard time over this! LEAVE HER ALONE!!!' We agree
