Things have gone from bad to worse for the Hot n Cold singer, who recently split from Gym Class Heroes singer Travis McCoy.
Katy couldn't hide her heartache during a recent performance at L.A.'s Hotel Cafe when she explained the inspiration behind her new single Thinking of You.
'It's one of those slit your wrists songs, like one of those R. Kelly songs like 'Real Talk.' Like when you break up with somebody and you don't wanna move on, but you have to move on.'
She continued, 'And sometimes you find yourself making out with somebody else and you feel like you're cheating. But you're not cheating because you're broken up. And I know being a girl, I've had sex with a guy, and been thinking about a different guy the whole time. That's 'Real Talk.' And even though you're broken up, it still feels like cheating. And it hurts right now.'
Then, last week, Katy was called to the stage of France's NRJ Music Awards to receive the International Song of the Year award for I Kissed A Girl.
Then, at the end of the show, the host announced that there had been a mix up when the votes were counted and Katy wasn't in fact the winner. The award then went to Rihanna for her hit single Disturbia.
