On Thursday, Los Angeles police filed a personnel complaint after TMZ posted a photograph of Rihanna and the horrific injuries she sustained when allegedly assaulted by boyfriend Chris Brown.
An internal investigation is being carried out into who leaked the horrific close up of the singers beaten face. The LAPD have released the following statement:
'The Los Angeles Police Department takes seriously its duty to maintain the confidentiality of victims of domestic violence,' adding 'A violation of this type is considered serious misconduct, with penalties up to and including termination.' Rihanna has yet to be publicly identified as the alleged victim in the Chris Brown case. 'A violation of this type is considered serious misconduct, with penalties up to and including termination.'
Police are urging anyone with any information regarding the leak to contact the department.
In other related news, Rihanna is said to be 'royally pissed off' at Chris Brown's pathetic public apology and is said to have called the statement 'cavalier and arrogant'.
People close to the injured pop star told the Chicago Sun-Times that she was disgusted that while Chris Brown stated he was 'sorry and saddened … over what transpired' he didn't show any remorse over the bust up.
Rihanna is said to still be recuperating in Barbados.
