The mother of four was yesterday arrested in Warrington during the course of the afternoon on suspicion of assault, criminal damage and a public order offence, police sources said. The 28 year old was put in a police cell awaiting questioning over allegations that she had attacked a man.
Kerry Katona's arrest comes after she was secretly filmed by a Sunday newspaper snorting cocaine, which resulted in her losing a £250,000 advertising deal with food retailer Iceland.
A police spokesman told the Telegraph ''At approximately 3.50pm on Wednesday August 26, Cheshire Police attended a premises on Hawthorne Business Park in Warrington following a report of an assault.
''A 28-year-old woman from the Wilmslow area has been arrested on suspicion of assault, criminal damage and a public order offence.'
On Sunday the former I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! winner apologised for her behaviour to fans. She told a newspaper that she was 'ashamed' of her drug taking. 'I know I let everyone down - my fans, my family and people I work with,' she was reported as saying.
Worryingly, the star's step-sister Pat Ferrier recently told the News of the World that the former Atomic Kitten's drug taking is so bad that her nose is 'rotting away'!
'We were in America for our dad's funeral last year when the hole first started to develop,' she recalled. She the went on to describe the state of her in-law's nostrils.
'Kerry was in the bathroom for ages. I'd seen her take the tweezers in and I said, ''What you doing?' She said, 'I'll be out in a minute.' Then in her hand she's got this thing that she dragged out of this hole in her nose. It looked like when you get the fat off bacon. I've got a strong stomach but that was almost too much. She told me that rotting black stuff builds up inside and she has to dig it out every few weeks. It was disgusting, but it doesn't stop her taking drugs.'
'The hole has got bigger and has penetrated through to the other side. Kerry can put the end of her glasses into it,'
'She's shown it to people. And it makes this funny whistling sound when she breathes through her nose. Kerry told me that when she sniffs up she gets it. I heard it. It's a very low whistle, as if your nose is blocked and you're just getting some air through,' her step-sister added.
Yet Kerry Katona insists she is not a drug addict?!
