Kristen Stewart has been nominated for a Rising Star BAFTA for her role in the Twilight Saga based on the books of Stephanie Meyer. She faces tough competition from Jesse Eisenberg, Nicholas Holt, Carey Mulligan and Tahar Rahim. The judging panel, which includes previous BAFTA award winner Noel Clarke, chose the nominees from a list of recommendations by various BAFTA members.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the third instalment in the series, will be released in UK cinemas in July this year, following a chain of two other successful movies, Twilight and New Moon.
The winner will be chosen by public vote and will be announced on February 21, 2010, when the show is aired.
In further news, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, who plays Edward Cullen in the vampire series, are said to be looking for a house in the Isle of Wight in the hope of breaking away from the paparazzi.
The couple spent the New Year there together in a town called Ventor, which they have since fallen in love with.
‘They loved it. They were able to walk around largely unnoticed-like a normal couple’ a source told OK.
‘They’ve talked about buying a property on island for when the pressures of Hollywood get too much’ the source concluded.
The couple have yet to confirm the nature of their relationship.
