 Robbie Williams was no angel on the X Factor this weekend as he failed to sing in time to his hit single Angels. The singer came in too early on the first line of the song in a live rendition with X Factor contestant Olly Murs. He then had to repeat the line of the song with the X Factor hopeful at his side. ‘It’s not our fault this time. His earpiece was working properly’ a source told the Mirror. ‘So much was riding on it after last times wide-eyed, dodgy display’ ‘It could have salvaged some of his reputation but it all fell apart again. It was beyond cringe worthy’. Another source described the pair as ‘two drunk mates singing in the car park after closing time’ The pop star has admitted to stage fright in the past, but had rehearsed with no problems prior to the live show. In further news, Joe McElderry was crowned the X Factor winner last night and says he ‘owe it all to Cheryl Cole’. The winner said that he almost collapsed on stage with shock when he heard the news, ‘What has just happened? I can’t believe it. I nearly fainted at the end. I feel like I’m just floating around and like jelly’ he said on the ITV2 show Xtra Factor. Though he was the favourite to win he said ‘I never really took much notice of the hype because I think the minute you take any notice of it, it puts you off. It was flattering but just because everyone was saying it, I didn’t think it was going to happen and I was actually going to win’. Simon Cowell added ‘I have a mixture of emotions, I am sorry for Olly but I am happy for Joe. Referring to Cheryl Cole he said ‘This one is going to be so smug, but she did a great job. The two of them together deserved to win’.
